Blood Diamonds

The diamonds available at Rare Diamond Investor (RDI) are all sourced from legitimate sources. Our suppliers guarantee that these diamonds are conflict free diamonds.

What Are “Blood Diamonds?”

Blood Diamonds, also known as “Conflict diamonds”, are diamonds sold by rebels to fund their armed conflicts against legitimate governments.

During the last 15 years, the illicit trade of Blood Diamonds has been concentrated in African nations, like Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and the Ivory Coast.

These diamonds are often produced through the forced labor of men, women, and children.

They are also seized during shipment or by attacking mining operations. These stones can eventually make it to the world market.

What is The “Kimberley Process?”

The Kimberley Process is what ensures that the diamonds you are buying are not conflict diamonds.

This is an international organization made up of more than 70 countries that abide by the standards of The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), an international effort to eliminate the trade of conflict diamonds.

This agreement involves dozens of governmental and non-governmental agencies, representing all the major countries who have agreed to prevent the trade of diamonds that are being used to fund violence in Africa.
